New Spyder3Print Version a Must for all Users
|
The Public Beta of Spyder3Print, version 3.5PB for Mac and Windows, is now available from our website as a free upgrade to all registered PrintFIX PRO or Spyder3Print owners. This update offers significant improvements in speed, workflow, and convenience. Changes are largely in three areas:
|
|
- Increased Measurement Speeds: Each measurement is now four times as fast, so overall read times are significantly reduced for all targets.
- New Easy Profiling Options: Users can choose from three different target sizes to produce profiles in a streamlined interface for simpler, faster printer profiling.
- Improved Workflow for Advanced Profiling Process: Changes to the advanced workflow include eliminating the need to step backwards when adding the Extended Grays target to the High Quality Color target, plus allowing the user to print and measure both targets as a composite target.
No matter how you use Spyder3Print we are sure that this upgrade will make your process faster and more convenient, so be sure to try it. These Public Beta Installers will remain on our website until all user input has been reviewed and updated Help files have been added, at which point Final v3.5 Installers will be made available. These Public Betas support all ten Spyder3Print languages.

Expert Advice
The Inside Scoop on Spyder3Print's new 500 Patch Target
If you build profiles with Spyder3Print, then v3.5's new 500 Patch Target (combining the 225 patch color target with the Extended Grays target, for a total of approximately 500 patches) will be of interest to you. When selected in either the Easy Profiling mode, or the Advanced mode, the 500 patch target option will allow you to print both pages together, without backing up to select a second target. Once printed, you will be able to read them as a single seamless operation. And once finished, the single .xml measurement file will be used to build your profile, so you won't have to sort through your measurement sets, trying to match the correct pair of targets for a composite profile.
Photoshop Tip of the Month
Troubleshooting Tip
By now you've heard the tip that if Photoshop starts acting weird, the first thing to do is delete Photoshop's Preferences file and restart Photoshop. This will build a factory-fresh set of Preferences that will usually cure the problem. Now, Photoshop can make this "trashing-the-Prefs" routine even easier. Just hold the Shift-Option-Command keys (PC: Shift-Alt-Control) when you first launch Photoshop, and you'll be greeted with a dialog box asking you if you want to delete the Photoshop settings file. Click OK, and Photoshop will then build a new, factory-fresh set of Prefs for you.
